Long career break
Hi all,
I stepped away from nursing in 2023 after feeling burnt out and started re-evaluating if I wanted to stay in the career all together.
I decided to go back for my masters to be a therapist as I want to continue helping others but in a different way.
I am currently in my second year but have a long road to go for my goal of starting a private practice.
My hope is to get a part time or per diem nursing job to lessen the financial burden while I pursue this new path.
My questions-
- How realistic is it for me to get a part time or per diem nursing job since I’ve been away since 2023?
- Has anyone took a few years off and then got back into it?
- Are certain specialities easier to get into after time off?
- Any input on how to market myself to get back into it?
My background: 10 years within women’s and children’s health (mother baby, NICU, peds) inpatient and outpatient settings
Thanks in advance!
