## What's the Deal with GMO?

GMO (aka "Garlic Cookies") is that legendary strain everyone talks about but few vendors can actually nail. It's a cross of Girl Scout Cookies × Chemdawg that's become the holy grail of funky, savory cannabis.

**Quick Facts:**
• Name stands for "Garlic, Mushrooms & Onions" (not genetically modified)
• Created by Mamiko Seeds, popularized by Skunkhouse Genetics
• Indica-dominant hybrid (70/30 or 90/10 depending on cut)
• Terpene profile: Heavy myrcene, limonene, and caryophyllene
• Many vendors attempt it, few nail the authentic profile
• Community considers it a benchmark for quality and authenticity

## The Bottom Line

GMO remains the strain everyone wants but few vendors can actually deliver authentically. When done right, you'll know it immediately - that unmistakable garlic, fuel, and funk combo that hits different. The good news is that 2025 has brought more options than ever before, with both budget and premium selections available.

**Pro Tips:**
- Real GMO should smell offensive to some people
- If it doesn't reek of garlic/fuel, it's probably not authentic
- Many crosses are easier to find than pure GMO
- Budget options exist but expect compromised profiles
- Check community forums before buying - people aren't shy about calling out weak GMO

**What to Look For:**
- Authentic expressions will have that immediate garlic/diesel hit
- Good GMO should be sticky and resinous
- Effects should be heavy, relaxing, and long-lasting
- Crosses can offer interesting variations while keeping core GMO traits

The hunt continues, but with more vendors carrying legitimate cuts in 2025, your chances of experiencing what all the hype is about have never been better. Just remember - when you find the real deal, stock up because authentic GMO doesn't stay on shelves long.
