Maki/Toji(no weapons) can enter Barriers from anywhere, inside or outside the Domain
A lot of people have this idea that if Maki decides not to enter a DE, that her ass would get knocked backwards like what happens when Mahito rejects Yuji from his. But that isn't what happens to objects when a Domain expands.
What actually happens is that the barrier is laid out over top of them. This is what we see in the top panels where Mahito's domain has partially phased over the school building. It doesn't destroy it, the building just exists in a different space from the DE. It's noted to be different from domains like Megumi where his barrier is using a building as the shell and we still see a physical outline of the gymnasium like doors and rafters whilst inside the DE.
Maki was not shoved outside of Curseya's Domain like Yuji was, the Domain is laid out over top of her and she exists in a different space while still inside the DE. She moved herself to Curseya's back and that's where she chose to enter the barrier. We can see that she has only halfway in as she's already backstabbing Curseya.
Maki did not come from the outside, she entered the barrier/domain from the inside. Curseya hadn't moved a step, he did not open his DE with himself conveniently in backstab range of the edge.
