My fiancé's friends and family keep complaining to him about our "destination" wedding

We're having a wedding with 120 guests. My fiancé only invited 40 people, and 12 have RSVP'd “no.” I can tell he feels unsupported, all his guests keep complaining about the 30-mile (50 km) drive. It takes an hour at most.

Meanwhile, my relatives are traveling 350 miles to be there. And when my In laws found out my family is going to stay at a hotel they asked my fiancé to pay for their stays in a hotel too..

I feel like the fancy open bar became a excuse to complain about not being able to drive home. There are so many alcohol free drinks in the menu

It makes me angry, and I don’t know what to say to him... I just hope he can still enjoy the day.
