I don’t know how to see the crochet stitches, help

I knit and I can see the knit stitches, but for the life of me I can’t get the hang of crochet.

I’ll lose count, always, and then have to go by what it looks like. I recount why I just crocheted. Or I’ll just crochet to the last stitch, but it’s always wrong.

I just can’t see where one stitch ends and another begins. I’ve tried looking up videos and I can’t find anything.
