Is this ok for wedding with semi-formal attire?

Does this dress work for a fall wedding that is "Semi Formal Attire" and at a vineyard? They have requested a fall color theme. I thought brown velvet would work. I'm more pear shaped and won't be distracting with my small bust in this. I'm not sure if the dress is too long to be semi-formal. There will also be a live cover band with dancing.
