Teaching in Oregon

Hi,

I am currently going into my third year of undergrad (public policy and urban planning) in Oregon. I have always been interested in being a high school teacher or professor but I’ll focus on the former for this question. What is the path to becoming a teacher like in Oregon? What is the profession like these days? Can you earn a decent living teaching? What are some of the better areas to teach in Oregon? I went to PPS K-12 and had all wonderful teachers, but I hear there are more requirements to teach in PPS than other districts? Just looking for some guidance as I figure out my path. Thanks!
