is it normal to still talk to your parents during/after transition

my mom says its not an anomaly and that shes in a group for parents of trans kids with a few k people in it, she also keeps trying to frame my dad as transphobic which keeps being disproven by me also talking to him? they both agreed to help me when ill be getting top surgery. but i never hear anything about trans experiences where this is the case so i dont know what this means in the context of contributing to the community
