Screentime on phones should be mandatorily limited
Hear me out. I know the header comes across as CCP propaganda, I get it. Hopefully half of you are critical enough to be reading this before raising your pitchforks.
I think screentime on phones should be limited to an assumed absurd number. Something like 50-60 hours a week of active screentime (meaning the phone is actively doing something). It needs to be large enough that functionally social people probably won't notice the limit exists, but small enough to be something screen absorbed netizens need to be conscious of (I say as one myself).
Cellphones have become a rot to society that need to be regulated, but I also recognize the utility of their existence, so a reasonable medium needs to be met. I think making the time wasted on your phone something you are actively reminded and therefore conscious of is the best first step.
