Is there a 24hr ATM deposit limit or other type of limit on deposits via ATM?
I search thru currency for fancy serial numbers and typically deposit to the ATM because its fairly easy and you can generally avoid the line. Also if depositing at the teller window I believe tellers must hold the cash in their drawer until they can give it back out. So I would rather not annoy them with my eccentric hobby. Anyway this has happened before I wanted 3-4 days and things went back to normal but seems odd and possibly isolated to my account.
The ATM allows you to deposit 200 bills per transaction. So if depositing singles thats 200 x $1 bills. On Monday I deposited $2000 in singles and returned Tuesday to deposit the rest. However, after $1200 the ATM quit accepting money and returned the 200 I had tried to deposit. No problem maybe its full so tried a different ATM same results. Today I returned and tried another ATM which didn't go well. It accepted the money into the machine but then returned it (only in doing so must've jammed the cash output drawer - because 200 bills don't really fit all at once) so that ATM locked up and spit out a error ticket stating "Your deposit has been received. Your account will be credited upon verification of deposit" which has me a little concerned. Hoping I didn't just lose $200 but also hoping my account hasn't been red flagged.
Is this common and are there temporary limits placed on accounts. I'm not doing anything illegal but perhaps it raises suspicion if they see 10 transaction for $200 back-to-back then withdrawing that money immediately after in larger denomination bills.
