Need Advice: Joined a Small Company Before MNC Offer's Joining Date — Now Got Joining Date, What Should I Do?

Help

Hi folks, I’m a 2024 graduate and need some honest advice.

I recently accepted an apprenticeship offer at a well-known MNC with a stipend of ~₹40k/month. However, since the joining date was getting delayed, I joined a small local company in my hometown (QA role, ₹10k/month) just to stay productive.

Now, I’ve finally received the joining date from the MNC and I definitely want to go ahead with it bcoz of better learning, better environment, and long-term prospects.

But here’s the issue, The small company might create a PF (EPFO) account for me soon. If that happens, I’m worried the MNC might find out during background verification and it could become a problem since I never disclosed this short stint.

Also, the small company has long work hours (7:30 AM – 5 PM), poor learning, no food, and honestly not a good environment. I’m uncomfortable continuing there.

My questions:

  1. Should I resign immediately before the PF entry is created?

  2. If the PF account is already created, will the MNC really care or reject me during BGV?

  3. How should I explain this if it ever comes up?
