just sharing...let me know what u think
A sword struck to my chest; I am losing consciousness. As I saw the birds flying through this barren region with all their freedom, I thought to myself ‘ahh, what I give to be like the bird, at least I don’t have to see this wretched place again’ when suddenly a mighty eagle soared through sky with its thunder-like peal and preyed on the birds one by one. I noticed a similarity between that eagle and humans. It was that the strong likes to prey and play on the weak. That was when I realized, I am the weak one. I was played, disdained like a tiger chasing a deer just to test its power and when the tiger is finally bored, he went for the kill. The weak would never achieve true freedom, so long as there is someone above you, you could just pray and hope that they would ignore your pitiful existence. Or you could become the one who triumph, the one who protects the weak and the one who is above all. I vowed to myself that if I ever lived throughout this battle, I would strive towards absolute strength, absolute tranquility and absolute dominance. No would I ever be succumb to the desires of the weak and a slave to evil. ‘The protecter of all that is good and the nemesis of all that is evil’. The purpose is simple but pure, came from the deepest part of the heart. As the enemy about to finish his task, an arrow pierced right through his neck thus killed him in one swift shot. I was relieved but the wound was deep enough that I would think I wouldn’t survive it. As I heard people coming to my aid, I am already passed out. Days went by, I heard kids were laughing running around, I thought ‘have I finally found heaven?’ when a nurse came to me and said, ‘no you were in the medical tent’. I was baffled as to how am I still alive but more confused on how the nurse could tell what I was thinking. As I finally fully awake, I realized that the nurse treating me was one of my closest comrades. No wonder she could tell what was on my mind, she was one of my longest known friends that she could predict what my words or action going to be. I was relieved to see her warm face as it brought peace to my jumbled mind. ‘You were about to die a minute later if the rescue squad didn’t make it in time’, she said. I faintly smiled. She gave me the full report on what happened during the war. I grieved and prayed for the fallen. Empires on both sides agreed on a temporary truce as to how many the casualties were with no side hinting on giving up. I was frustrated, why do we have this temporary truce, what happened to fight for the empire, why war in the first place, what is the purpose of the ones that fallen, to die for nothing? Without glory or being celebrated. Just to lie there and rot on the No-Man’s land. It made no sense to me. After I was fully healed, I went to meet the Ruler and questioned his motives and his ideas. However, I was deemed to be disrespectful towards the Ruler and was asked to leave if not to be labeled as the enemy of the empire. I was frustrated but I couldn’t do nothing, so I left empty handed with these questions still lingering on my mind. The souls of the fallen were weighing on me and I feared that the answers to my dilemma were nowhere to be found. Crushed and feeling helpless, I …………..
