Just Got Accepted to UT Austin MSCSO – Course Path Advice?

I just got accepted into the UT Austin Online MSCS online program for Spring 2026!

I wanted to ask if anyone has advice on the best path to take the courses. Like what’s the ideal order for core courses vs electives, and which electives are the most worthwhile? I'm trying to plan ahead to make sure I get the most out of the program and don’t get overwhelmed. Planning on taking 2 courses per semester and then 1 course per semester for the extremely hard classes. I do want to graduate in 2 years though - max 2.5 years.

Also, just to clarify:

• How many core courses and how many electives are required to graduate?
• If anyone has a recommended course progression or spreadsheet/schedule they used, I’d really appreciate it if you could share!
