Bought house 2 months ago came with an in ground pool maintenance seemed easy and simple enough but last month and into this month has been a nightmare.

Water chemistry is near perfect but these algae spores just keep coming back in the hundreds….DAILY;

 me and my brother scrub and scrub and scrub and scrub I’ve recharged my DE filter twice in two weeks. pulled the filter and all the grids cleaned each one bought new O-rings.

The pool is Gunite/Plaster 15k gallons DE60 and a 2HP pump with a multi port valve and a heater for spa.

I know there’s some scaling but i’m not worried about it

I’ve poured about 15 gallons of liquid chlorine into the pool in the past 2 weeks & the pool eats through the chlorine like it doesn’t even exist &
when super chlorinated it holds for about 2 days I can’t even “SLAM” bc it’s like the pool requires 5 gallons of FC each day for it to be even viable at SLAMing and that just seems oddly in correct for my pool size and it’s extremely expensive. in total this pool has consumed 15 gallons of FC just last month alone.

my test shows high TC but that’s because this was right after I poured 3 gallons of FC in and took a water sample in for testing 2-3 hours later

I fixed my CYA with some conditioner/sanitzer (trichlor:Dichlor) CYA is @35PPM

at this point i’m totally discouraged to even bother cleaning or scrubbing this pool anymore.

I’m using a stainless steel brush

*Extras notes: I even tried algaecide it kept algae from growing but I was unable to chlorinate pool for almost a week last month so I don’t use it anymore bc it seems redundant and a waste of time.
I’m aware spa spillover raises PH as well but I check and maintain it regularly.

PLEASE HELP GUIDE ME 😭😭 I’m at my wits end.

I’m buying a brand new filter come winter ❄️ but I don’t think it will change anything.

I’m also trying to take care of phosphates but with the algae spore issue I can’t even treat the water for phosphate removal.
