Asus computer stuck in Aptio utility

My Asus laptop model UX501V is stuck in Aptio utility. When this started I also found time and dates going whacky and replaced the CMOS battery. Now time and dates are ok, but I cannot get the comp to boot up. It doesn't shut down even if I try a hard shutdown. I would appreciate help.
