Newspaper article (?) about dinosaurs, the asteroid that killed them, and the end of the human race

Hi! I found an excerpt of an article on a social media (i think) about the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs. It was really well-written, and it used the asteroid as a metaphor for the end of the human race under capitalism. I'm pretty sure the excerpt that I read began with how scientists debate how long it took for the dinosaurs to die from the asteroid. I think there was also a line about how we think it happened instantly because an asteroid hitting the earth "hurts." It may have come from some kind of online newspaper because I remember recognizing the font as similar to the NYT or WSJ. If anyone has read this article, please let me know!
