To Feel; to Be - in Pain Constantly
I have no interest in what has passed
Clinging to distant memories and feelings of the past
All I have done is resolve it all
I have no care for the future either
I may grow luscious long hair or go bald
My 'being' has no interest in these uncertainties
Not to say I'm not fair and handsome
Nor do I lack a posh taste with simple humility wefted through
Neither do I lack a scent of beauty wafting anew
But what I do mean to say is
I just want to live
To be a human who feels and sees
Who doesn't overreact at opportune times
And restrain my anger like I am my arch-enemy
What use is sex and love if it isn't the bridge
That brings together two souls away from the ridge
Eating and drinking I wish to flee from
But I am no monk, I wish to rejoice in drinking and eating to feel amazed
Who could understand me but a person materialistically unburdened,
But with a humility as if they have chosen to be beaten with a club
Day after day for all of eternity
All for the sake of feeling human
All-too-human
