[5e 2014] [Online] [Weekly, Sunday mornings, EST] A song of ice and madness bellows throughout the North; will you be the one to break the Everlasting Rime?
The sun refuses to rise over these cursed lands. Spring seems a far-off dream, and summer nearly a myth. And in this endless darkness, new evils have arisen. Thieves, and murderers, and vile things that once slept beneath the ice. But the one thing we never considered was the evil that our fellow man would commit when survival is in question... Are our hearts cold, or are we cold-hearted?
About The Adventure
Hello! I'm in search of 4 brave adventurers to help save Icewind Dale from the chilling threat of the The Everlasting Rime. In the Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden story line, you will begin as a 1st level adventurer in one of the Ten-Towns, a grouping of settlements in Icewind Dale. After almost a year of winter, times are quite dire. Not one to let your fellow man suffer, you begin taking up odd jobs to ensure the survival of the other Dale-landers. In the process of assisting your fellows, you uncover a sinister plot to destroy the Ten-Towns while they are weakened, culminating in a treacherous battle with a despot and its pet dragon. All of this, while a group of evil wizards mount an expedition to uncover an ancient, lost relic that could either save, or seal, the fate of the Ten-Towns.
This adventure will cover levels 1-12 (we may negotiate beginning at level 3 if all players are experienced), and a wide variety of locations and play styles. New players are strongly encouraged to join.
About The DM
My name is Johnathan, and I've been DMing Dungeons and Dragons and other systems for approximately 25 years now. I've never had a bad review, and have an exceedingly high completion rate (I.E., my games rarely fall apart, or end prematurely). I enjoy using my vast experience to custom-tailor adventures to each player's liking, and giving each player a chance to let their character shine. I also love teaching new players how to engage in the hobby, to help foster its growth. I bring a culture of fun and respect to the table, and expect as much from the other players as well.
About The Game
The game will take place weekly, on Sundays, from 10AM to 2PM, EST. They will be 4 hour sessions, with a 15 minute break at the 2 hour mark (obviously, you're free to step away from the 'table' whenever, but I do still schedule a break, just to stretch our legs). The game will be played using Roll20 as the tabletop, Discord for voice communication, and D&D Beyond for character sheet tracking.
All of this sounds awesome. How do I play?
If you're interested in joining the game, just respond to this thread with your proposed characters Name, Species, Class, and Background (please note that this is the mechanical option Background, not your back story). Session 0 will be held this Sunday, at 10 AM. To be considered, your reply must contain the phrase picklestomper, to ensure you've read this post thoroughly.
I'm looking forward to playing with you!
