Parking tips for Lady Gaga: The MAYHEM Ball at Madison Square Garden (nyc Aug 26, 2025)

figured i'd share some parking advice for the lady gaga show at msg since ive been there a bunch and parking in midtown is a whole different beast if you're not ready for it. driving to the garden can be a real pain, honestly.

first off, madison square garden doesnt have its own parking lot. you're on your own to find a spot in one of the many garages nearby. there are a ton of them, but on an event night, they jack up the prices like crazy for "event rates" and it gets expensive fast. you can use apps like spothero or parkwhiz to book a spot ahead of time, which is usually cheaper than just rolling up.

the biggest problem isn't just the price, it's the traffic. getting to the venue is one thing, but getting out after the show is a nightmare. if you park in one of the big garages right next to msg, expect to wait in your car for a long, long time just to get out onto the street. it's a total mess.

a lot of people who drive will park a bit further away, like a 15-minute walk, to avoid the worst of the post-show gridlock. you might find some street parking if you're lucky and get there after 7 pm when some restrictions lift, but that's a real gamble.

honestly, the best move for msg is to avoid driving right to the venue if you can. the most popular strategy is to park at a train station outside of manhattan and take the train in. if you're coming from nj, parking at secaucus junction is the way to go. it's cheap, and the train drops you off literally underneath madison square garden at penn station. it's so much less stressful.

another option i've started using lately is this app called Prked. it's a cool idea where people who live near madison square garden rent out their private driveways or garage spots. it's usually way cheaper than the commercial garages, and the best part is you completely skip the chaos of getting in and out of the main lots. you just park in someone's spot, take a short walk to madison square garden, and after the show, you can just get in your car and go while everyone else is stuck.

whatever you decide to do, give yourself way more time than you think you'll need. the traffic around penn station is no joke on a normal day, let alone for a big concert.

hope this helps and enjoy the show
