Are ASA Ragnarok supply crates way better than ASE Island/Fjordur/etc?

In 20 hours on ASA I've gotten 3 ascendant items/blueprints from sky drops, while I never saw any in ~200 hours between the Island and Fjordur in ASE. I do get plenty of silly ones, but the average item+blueprint quality and amount seems high.

Is this normal and ASA or Rag boosted the loot compared to what I'm used to?

I'm playing singleplayer with some modified settings, but the loot quality setting is still at 1.

I started from the 'hard' setting and mostly changed harvest, xp, tame, and breeding settings. Are there any other settings that could be affecting loot drops? Harvest Amount?
