Dumb question on editions on Steam and playing on the Steam Deck

I played through Wildlands on stadia and loved it, though only did 2 people then El Sueno. Stadia refunded the game when the went bottoms up, and Ubisoft gave me Ultimate edition for free. But I’m on steam deck for a bit now and getting the itch to play. I know the Ubisoft launcher sucks and I hate the online requirement. So I can:

Install the Ubisoft based version Buy it on Steam Use a sea worthy version

But on Steam there’s no ultimate edition per se: there’s standard, gold year 2 and ultimate year 2. I assume ultimate is ultimate year 2? I really enjoy some of the fallen ghosts perks like the jungle sr25.

So what’s the recommendation from my fellow ghosts? Thanks.
