Pros and cons of finishing just the basics?

40 credits done but none in my major. Since I was indecisive about my major. Will it become more easier or harder as I enter higher level courses?

It’ll be my first full time semester so I’m worried about course overload. My major is Computer Science so my understanding the courses are rigorous. So I guess my journey may vary because of that.
