Did you ever regret not getting a forward facing carrier?

I was pretty set on Tula explore because it seems great and can front face but have since seen that the free to grow feels much less bulky because it doesn’t have the padding for front facing, and many people seem to say you’re not supposed to do front facing fro more than 20 minutes or so anyway. Then I found the Lenny Light which actually seems perfect with everything I’m looking for except also doesn’t front face. Some mom friends with toddlers have said their kid hit a point where they hated the carrier unless they were front facing, so I’m worried that if I get the FTG or Lenny Light I’ll regret it because my baby will also hit that phase. She’s almost 6 months and we don’t like our current carrier so haven’t used it much but so far she’s been happy facing in, but we really want a good carrier for a big overseas trip when she will be 7-8 months and I don’t want to get something and then have her not want to face in by that point. Did anyone who got one of these carriers or any one without the forward facing option regret not getting it?
