How do I (22F) just focus on myself to get through my goals?
I’m currently trying to focus on improving myself emotionally, physically, and career-wise.
Emotionally: I struggle with things like insecurity, poor communication, lack of trust, and some toxic behaviors I want to unlearn.
Physically: I’m trying to stay consistent at the gym, eat healthy, and clear my skin.
Career-wise: I want to become a hairstylist and build a real future.
But at the same time… I still crave a romantic relationship even though I know it could distract me or slow me down.
Every time I’ve tried talking to a guy I just lose myself because I become so attached and involved with him that I forget to take care of my own self. Also my toxic habits have literally led me to no relationships and it hurts because I see all my friends and family members in relationships and I want that so bad but I know I could use some self improvement in my life. But at the same time I just feel so lonely romantically, I’ve never made it past a talking stage and it hurts so bad
I don’t want to use relationships to avoid my healing or derail my goals, but the desire still lingers.
How do you deal with this? Has anyone successfully pushed through this phase and stopped craving relationships to focus on themselves?
