My Thoughts on Chapter 234-3 (and Things I Noticed)
First off, like most people, I found this chapter to be a bit anticlimactic. It’s filled with glimpses of scenes and interactions we really want to see—like Tomoko’s mom talking to Ucchi,
her mom’s reaction to the movie
and most importantly, Tomoko interacting with the two presidents
—but instead, it barely touches on any of those. Instead, we get stuff that feels way less interesting in comparison, like Koto and Hikari’s scene and Shachi being horny. I’m hoping they’re just saving the good stuff for later, maybe as part of a bigger payoff, or that we’ll get more detailed snippets of those scenes in future chapters. After all, we’re still occasionally seeing bits from the summer vacation arc even now.
Now, let’s talk about Ucchi.
Did she really just say Tomoko is like Jesus to her??
Also, some people think the guy on page 13 is her brother,
but I don’t think so—he’s wearing the same uniform as Ucchi’s classmates, so he’s probably just another student in her class . and he is probably confessing to ucchi form her friends reaction . Either way, it’s nice to see because there used to be a theory that Ucchi was obsessed with Tomoko just because tomoko was the first person to show interest in her. But if she’s being confessed to now, that kind of debunks that theory.
As for my favorite trio (Tomoko, Yuri, and Nemo), I really hope that there argument on page 7 happened in front of the audience and not after everyone left. If it was in public, it shows that Tomoko is finally able to talk somewhat normally in front of a crowd—and all it took was a whole lot of backstabbing.
About the girl in the costume—don’t you think her design is weirdly unique? I’m wondering if she’s going to become a new character. I’d be fine with either outcome, but something about her stands out.
Now that we know Shashi is a real pervert, I want to see her interact with Tomoko even more. Also, is she maybe bi like Tomoko? Because… what was going on on page 5?
Lastly, I love this subtle recurring detail: the girl taking the picture of Yuu’s friend group on page 12 , is the suspiciously gay girl from Shizuku’s class. That’s such a fun little touch.
