Fuck you, Brad

I guess this post isn't anything special, because after reading through much of what was made here after the audio was released publicly, I'm likely regurgitating a lot of opinions. But for my own sake, I want to make peace with what's been unveiled and just say everything I want to say, and this feels like a nice place to put it.

I've been watching Brad since 2018. I found him after the Trench reaction and thought that his particular style of reacting to music was niche. At that time, he wasn't uploading anywhere near as much as I wanted him to, and I subscribed in the hopes of seeing live, highlighted reactions to albums more often. Eventually, his upload rate increased, and I grew closer and closer to Brad's channel, to the point where I had notifications on and frequently thought about what he would think about certain albums I enjoyed, whether that would be positive or negative. I remember particularly enjoying his AJR reactions, because I enjoyed a few of their songs at the time and had no idea there was so much hate aimed towards their music. Seeing that's how Brad and Tina supposedly met in the first place, it feels important to mention that.

Considering that you have this type of content everywhere nowadays, this whole 'reaction to music live but cut down into highlights' thing, it's strange to look back at a time when it wasn't prevalent. I'm unsure if he was the first to do it, but he was the first that I ever came across and the one who inspired me to make some of my own, so I guess that's why this angers me so much.

To be perfectly transparent, I was dropping very supportive comments under a lot of his videos after everything that happened last year. I thought a lot of what was happening was understandably controversial, but not enough to make me lose the entertainment that I found from his content. At the end of the day, I don't know any of these people that I watch on YouTube personally, and unless something egregious is revealed, I value the laughs above all. That's the only reason I watch YouTube videos.

I want to be perfectly clear that, after hearing that audio, I won't ever see him the same way again. He needs to fuck right off from every corner of the internet and seek legitimate mental help. It's not often I say that, but god damn, I was shaking listening to that audio snippet. I can't imagine how Tina felt. It seems she's been able to find peace and love in the last year, and I only wish her the best going forward. That recent video he posted too, his 'statement', was fucking offensive to watch in the way he was trying to justify things. That was ultimately what led me to write this.

I wanted to say this here because it's clear that many of the people interacting with this sub likely feel the same way, in terms of feeling disappointed by what was a very unique and interesting music critic channel. I posted an image here recently of Fantano's tweet regarding Brad's S.I. video, only because I thought it was relevant due to how much Brad absolutely adored him. I'm posting this now because it's very, very clear that Fantano was right. This YouTuber that I liked and respected as a content creator is someone I no longer feel comfortable watching or engaging with, and I felt I needed a place to get this off my chest.

After all this time, I want to end this particular interest with one thing.

Fuck you, Brad.
