[Megadrive][1990's] Dark Caveman Side Platformer

OK. So I hope I am remembering some details correctly.. but the game was super eccentric. It was quite dark (theme-wise). Like rocky, soil like environment. The music was mostly tonal/tribal drums. The main character I can't remember if it was like a caveman or some kind of animal. It was like a half naked man/beast with long hair running around.

It's a platformer of course but with puzzle elements.. like I think I remember having to pull levers and stuff and carry yourself up like elevators but with pulley ropes. Very long levels.. like it just scrolled but both back and forth.

I remember it being incredibly hard and I could never complete it (like most games).

I know this might be really vague and bad but I have some vague memories of it and I am really intrigued to find out what it is to get nostalgia again from it.

I think the main title consistented of the face of the main playable character. I can't remember bosses or anything. It was mainly getting to and from places. I can't remember much about enemies or bosses. I can't even remember if you could attack because he didn't have weapons or anything I don't think.
