Using sick leave for cosmetic reasons?

I am planning on getting some cosmetic procedures done to my face and am wondering if it’s appropriate to take sick leave for the recovery? Should I tell my manager about my plans? I feel uncomfortable letting them know that I’m using my sick leave for vanity reasons.

I’ve been advised I should definitely take a week off, but two weeks for full recovery.

Thoughts?

I can easily get a medical certificate for my time off and let my Dr. know it is for “personal” reasons.
