How to edit a PDF (Pro) the exact way I would a Word doc/Google Sheet. I HATE TEXT BOXES! Help me please with my sanity.

Why , WHY WHY does Adobe pay zero attention to simplicity. All I want to do is edit my frippin PDF (Pro) page exactly the same way I would a Word doc or a Google sheet without Random text boxes, elaborate options along with crazy colored 'options'... I'm past needing mental medical attention right now. Is there or is there not a way to accomplish this without a PHD in PDF's!!!!!!!!?
