Attempted magazine sales scam?

A lady came to my door and basically trauma dumped her life story on me- 7 kids, single mom, recovered from being trafficked and now working to help others like her. Then she pulled out a super ragged folder and explained how I could purchase some book or magazine subscriptions to be sent to shelters, prisons, or group homes and she would earn points to further her education. I got suspicious when nothing had prices and the website she gave me seemed to be for a completely unrelated nonprofit organization in another state. She did have an order form booklet but it was very generic looking. Scam, right? I didn’t give any money, she did write down my phone number and name but that’s all.
