How to play burned games on a PS2 slim with just FMCB and ulaunchelf
Hello all, I'm not sure if anybody has talked about it before but I always see many people recommending Mechapwn and FreeDVDboot when it comes to playing DVD backups, so here I am.
You can play copied games on a slim with FMCB (probably on the fat as well if you block the sensors, haven't tried) with just ulaunchelf:
- First of all, tear your console apart and block the lid sensors, you can easily find how to do it on the internet
- Turn on your PS2 with no disc in it, change your FMCB options in order to disable fast disk boot and force FMCB to take you to the browser on boot
- Save your changes and exit. Now, turn off the console, then turn it back on with a legit PS2 disc inside. You should be greeted with the browser menu and the disc icon. Press Circle to go back to the main menu and run ulaunchelf
- Now the disc has stopped spinning, which means you can swap your legit disc with your burned game. Go to the MISC folder and choose PS2Disc. Your game will load as if it was a legit disc
I never saw any discussions about this method. I have seen someone doing this for playing PS1 burned games on a slim with FMCB (just use an original and a burned PS1 game instead of a PS2 game), but I never saw anyone trying to do the same thing for PS2 games. So I tried it myself tonight and it worked! I apologize if this didn't bring anything new to the table, let me know what you guys think about this
