Selling home/neighbor issues
I bought a home in 2025. Overall, the inspection was great. There was just one thing that we did not have an inspection on which was putting a camera down the sewer line. Unfortunately, we did have a sewer back up a week into our move. Luckily, we had the finances to go ahead and fix everything. It has taken us some time though. our AC also ended up having a bullet hole in it. Luckily, we were able to pay for that as well. But the thing that has been bothering me, the most is my neighbors. It seems like they just don’t understand that they shouldn’t be crossing over the property line. We do have a retention wall. And their house is lower into the ground. We recently found out that they are renters. Law-enforcement has been involved and gave the neighbor a trespassing warning on their record. For two months, was not passing over the line. But over the summer, the dogs and the children have been crossing over the property line. As well as driving through this small area that was used as an exit for a turnabout in the front for them. But it falls on our property line. I went to the city and they actually said that our property line extends a little bit further into their home. I haven’t had a chance to get a surveyor out to officially confirm that. But I don’t see the whole point of getting one, when they’re already is a retention wall and the additional space is very small. I have been trying to be very cordial with asking for the dogs and children to stop crossing over the property lines. It doesn’t seem to work. I went to law-enforcement, and they’ve been taking a couple days to come out. At this point, I don’t know what to do. They’re the only ones that are giving us issues. Apparently we’re not the only ones that they have issues with around them. At this point, I do want my husband to consider selling the home. We have added so many additional things to the home. We did get a revalue estimate sent to us by our finance bank and it definitely increased by 30,000. I guess would it be best to sell or just wait out law-enforcement until they do something. is it too early to sell? I just know that I have to really do a lot of digging to convince my husband to move. Where he doesn’t come out losing a lot of money that he’s already spent on the home. Also, I’ve been noticing that the neighbor has been able to find me on social media, so if you’re reading this, please respect the property line. I really don’t wanna have to go to court for this. Because I know that’s the next step. But if that’s what it has to come to, that’s what it has to come to.
