Can you retrain where a chicken lays?

My neighbor has informed me that one of my hens has been laying in her garden. Apparently, for a while. I thought it was odd that my egg production had dropped slightly, but it's also been hotter than the nth ring of hell here. Can a hen be restrained to lay in the correct location? She's not broody, she lays and then comes back home. 😆
