Cost of Living increase if a Fugazi

I hear everywhere these days that cost of living is so high and that we have an houserental crisis with renting cost skrocketing. This is what i hear in the news, on radio, and also from coworkers at work. Despite everyone telling that life is harsh, I don't feel that way.

I lived in Sydney between 2011 and 2014, then lived overseas until 2022 and came back to Australia, this time in Adelaide in 2022.

NOW THE INTERESTING BIT:

- I found today my old 2 bedroom rental appartment that I had in sydney CBD in 2014 on realestate.com.au.
Price fully furninshed was $750 in 2014. it's now available for rent for $900 unfirnished in 2025. Another one in the same building, fully furnished is $1100 = 47% increase.

- I looked the evolution of minimum wage. In 2014 it was $16.87 per hour, in 2025 it is $24.95 = 48% increase.

- I looked at the price of a pad thai from Yok Yor (a thai restaurant in sydney) I remember I used to buy it multiple time a week. Price was $10.9 in 2014. Today on their menu it is $16.9 = 54% increase.

What is all the fuss about cost of living ? Minimum wage has followed inflation pretty well from what I can see.
