Wedding Venue Not Delivering

Hi. I signed a wedding contract about a year ago that promised multiple things but the top one being that the local small hotel they were building would be finished by my wedding (20 rooms). This is truly the only reason we booked this hotel was so all of our bridal party could be in the same place.

I have email communication of them saying it would be done in April 2025 then that got pushed to June 2025 then that got pushed to August 2025 and now got a phone call today that it will not be completed by my wedding.

My contract states the following: “XX venue has guaranteed that the hotel will be completed by the wedding date.”

They used the guaranteed language.

They are not willing to offer me any discounted price and are only willing to give me an Airbnb free of charge that sleeps HALF of my party. At this point, I would like a dollar amount off my wedding and book at a hotel where we can all be together but they are unwilling to give me a dollar amount off.

Should I seek a lawyer and actually fight this? It’s not something I want to do months out from my wedding but I am so frustrated by the way they are handling it when they fucked up & wrote in the contract that it would be done. Them being so unwilling to work with me makes me want to fight it more.
