Is this allowed?

I'm transferring from deli to produce and I want to make sure they can't pull me into that kitchen prison ever again. The pay cut doesn't bother me because the $19 for deli wasn't worth the toll on my mental health. The deli department manager knows how much I hate it there and warned me that she can still pull me from produce to work in the deli when needed because it's still considered part of the fresh team. Is this allowed? Produce doesn't get paid the same as deli, but I am STILL expected to do deli work? I don't trust or believe her and I will be talking to the people above her, but I wanted to get your opinions as well.

Deli department has been the worst experience ever because it's understaffed and the manager doesn't know how to manage properly and her stress was making everyone else stress out. All the associates are so miserable that they don't want to work together or help each other when needed. They LOVED to keep me in the kitchen alone to handle everything all day while they disappeared the entire shift. It's a nightmare and I just want all the deli chains to finally be broken so I can taste freedom at last
