Disney jumps 145% in 9-month profit, fueled by theme parks and streaming
The Walt Disney Company reported a net income of $11.09B for the first nine months of its fiscal year, up 145% YoY, driven by strong performance in its theme parks and streaming businesses. Revenue rose 5% YoY to $71.96B.
Over half of the revenue came from two core segments: Entertainment (streaming, films, TV) and Experiences (parks, cruises, merchandising).
In Q3 alone, DIS posted $5.26B in net income (+100% YoY) and $23.65B in revenue (+2%). Entertainment contributed ~$10.7B, while Experiences brought in ~$9.1B, boosted by higher consumer spending and longer cruise bookings.
CEO Bob Iger highlighted progress in streaming, including Hulu's integration into Disney+, the upcoming ESPN DTC launch, and continued expansion of park-related offerings.
