Short notice offer for better job, seeking advice on how to exit current job in a professional manner.
For reference, I’ve had this job since the beginning of the year. It’s entry level work, typical student job. That being said, I’ve become somewhat depended on and a sudden departure at this moment would screw over some coworkers a fair amount.
The job I was offered pays more and is line with the profession I’m pursuing with my studies. However, for me to take this job, I’ll have to partake in the training which is a full week of shifts. This hampers my ability to work at all at my current job. The next available training classes wouldn’t be for another few months where I may not even be guaranteed to be offered another spot.
My brain is telling me take the upgrade, however my heart is telling me not to leave my current job shorthanded. Any advice?
