Why does Shigaraki's Fortnite skin censor the hands — when MHA and Fortnite are both rated 12+?
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately:
Why does Epic remove Shigaraki’s iconic hand details in Fortnite — when both My Hero Academia and Fortnite are rated 12+ in most countries?
His hands aren’t just “accessories.” They are literally part of his design and origin story. Removing them is like giving All Might a baseball cap instead of hair.
And let’s be honest — we already have skins like:
Leatherface (wears the face of a victim)
Michael Myers
The Predator
John Wick (guns + headshots = his whole thing)
So… why draw the line at Shigaraki’s hands?
I get that Fortnite wants to stay “family friendly,” but the anime is age-rated for 12+ audiences — same as the game. The hands are symbolic trauma, not blood or gore.
Wouldn't it be better to offer a toggle-style edit, like “With Hands / Without Hands,” and let players choose?
I genuinely love the skin, but this detail feels like an odd double standard — or a missed opportunity for fans.
What do you think?
