Are VPNs really an effective method of avoiding the AI age verification?

Like eventually the laws are going to hit the countries where this isn't being affected, right? I mentioned in a previous post that I set up YouTube alternatives on my phone and computer but tbh switching between all of them all the time sounds like a hassle and I have yet to find an alternative for ipad, where I watch most of my youtube content. I was thinking of just getting a VPN and calling it a day but idk if that's a long term solution tbh.
