USMD - Timing for step 3

When’s the earliest we can take step 3? I feel like I’d rather get it out of the way as fast as I can before forgetting everything (likely gonna do a TY)

Do we have to wait til we graduate? And if I pay for it out of pocket, will residency programs that cover cost usually reimburse? Just curious to know what everyone’s thinking of doing
