Looking for books with characters experiencing similar situation to me

I am in a relationship where my girlfriend's family is rather homophobic; her dad is especially unsupportive and dismissive of our relationship. I would really appreciate finding some books that deal with similar situations. I'm open to either relationship focused or family-dynamics focused, but I would appreciate books that I can closely relate to. This also doesn't have to be a romance book, but a romantic relationship that is unsupported by family should be an important part of the story. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.
