New rat owner needs rat things and rat advice

HELP

Hi! I developed an absolute hyperfixation on rats a few months ago. I can't afford to keep pets personally, so I went to meet two little guys at a meet&greet a rescue in my state was doing and invited a dear friend to come with me...and it seems now I'm getting help in obtaining and caring for some chaos potatoes lol I know I'll need a tall cage, a travel and timeout-type cage, plenty of towels and toys (I know there's specific companies like Ratty Box that make special things for rats), but I'd love to get input from the sub, so let me hear from you 😊

Something specific that I'd definitely like answers to is that I heard that rats can be obsessed with socks and feet and will groom dead skin off of their human. Is this true? Just wanted to know ahead of time because I have autism, and one of my sensory issues is with my feet and my having to need socks on essentially all the time, and my right foot has a lot of eczema. Am I going to be pestered around my feet a lot? Lol
