Why is picking a watch so hard?
They all look great but are all pretty different. I've searched the topic and everyone is using their watches for different purposes.
Currently in the Fitbit environment with a sense 2 that has been falling apart for a year. Previously had early charges and versas, before the sense 2.
My needs: Health, sleep, and fitness tracking, with the ability to get notifications and do quick responses. My sense 2 has the mic and and speaker and I never use it. I have small wrists (171.5mm), so nothing too large. Something newer and somewhat future proof, as I'm not looking to buy new watches every 1-2 years.
Wants: I hike, walk, paddleboard, and swim (all occasionally, not a serious athlete), so I would like something that does altitudes, great water protection, and that will maybe help me be a more serious athlete. I also camp, and in general spend lots of time outdoors. I'd like to stick under $600 USD. I'd like something that I only need to charge once a week or less.
Not sure: I've always had touchscreen watches, so not sure how I feel about button navigation. I like the look of the MIP solar display, but also like the extra information from the AMOLED displays.
Nice to have: the flashlight looks awesome and convenient as I use my cell phone light at least once a day (mornings when getting up to not wake the wife). Something with maps but it looks like that is out of my price range. Music storage is nice, but not sure if ever use it.
My initial thoughts: likely between instinct 3 (45mm) solar, AMOLED, or forerunner 570 42mm.
Is there a watch I'm missing that I should be looking at? Obviously the Fenix is nice, but not being a serious athlete, not sure I want to invest that much.
Thanks in advance!
