Would I have a chance of getting this job?
Hi all,
Basically what the title says. My background is in Television Production, and right now I am a freelance control room operator (mostly camera, but I have done audio, switching, graphics etc)
I don’t plan on leaving TV, but instead adding this in the mix (since it’s freelance) and I am interested in this job (and radio) because I am looking to blend creativity and technicality radio would bring, and podcast production is something I have thought about and be interested in pursuing. (Yes, I know radio and podcasts are different, but podcast production is something that interests me, and radio and podcasts are at least adjacent to each other).
I was required to take a radio class during my broadcast education so I’ve had a little bit of a peek behind the curtain, and enjoyed it, but I don’t know WideOrbit at all, and forgot most of what I learned about Audition. Despite that though, I know I could learn and I think the skills from my current broadcast background are transferrable and I could have a shot at this.
Ultimately I would like to know; Is that is realistic or I am being delusional? (especially since I would be competing with people with actual radio degrees) I do also have experience in the control room of a news station so that could be a positive bonus for me.
Attached is the job description to help you guys get a better idea. Be honest and let me know!
Thanks all!
