Former “Leftist”

I am a 22M, I grew up in a red state but was told from a young age to vote “for the people.” As I aged, I realized that things weren’t so simple. There were a lot of complexities and misinformation. Naturally, I grew interested in those things and wanted to seek my own truth. For further context, my family has been very vocal to support the left and liberalism. Up until doing my own research I agreed to appease my family. This now disgusts me. I feel like I was so easily manipulated. Even feeling pressured into voting democratic in the last election, since I was “doing the right thing.” Conservatives in my opinion are so wildly misrepresented. It is so hard for me as a young man to back the beliefs and system agenda of the Democratic Party. It’s so clearly attacking the people like me, and to SEE people like me backing it up with a blindfold on makes me want to distance myself from those people so bad. This has now caused my switch from Democratic to Right leaning. I take every opportunity now to speak out about my beliefs. Sorry if this isn’t the place for a rant but I felt like sharing my story to any likeminded individuals or anyone in general! Thanks!
