Helping the Poor & Orphans: A Core Pillar of Islam

As salamu alaykum everyone,
Just a reminder that caring for the poor and orphans isn’t just charity in Islam it’s a duty. Allah mentions in the Qur’an over and over the importance of feeding the hungry, supporting the needy, and never turning away an orphan.

“And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive...”(Qur'an 76:8)

The Prophet (ﷺ) also said:
"The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this" and he held his two fingers close together (Sahih Bukhari).

Even small acts sharing a meal, donating quietly, or sponsoring an orphan can carry immense reward. In a world full of excess and suffering, let’s not forget this part of our deen. May Allah soften our hearts, purify our wealth, and use us as means of relief for others. Ameen
