Rant about love interests

okay so this is kinda a rant about female love interests

i’ve seen so many types of male love interests — like the goofy ones, the idiots, the serious guys, nerds, edgy bad boys, awkward, whatever. but when it comes to female love interests for male protagonists, it’s like there’s only a few options. they’re either models, super badass and serious, or they’ve got that mysterious seductive black cat vibe

so like… where are the normal girls? where’s the golden retriever girlfriend?

and no, i don’t mean she has to be dumb or quirky just for the sake of it. she can literally be a genius. she can be the smartest person in the room. but i’m tired of every love interest being some ultra-sexy, always composed, femme fatale type. no one acts like that 24/7 in a real relationship

like yeah okay, she can have her hot moments, but sometimes she’s just being loud and annoying and making dumb jokes and sending cursed memes at 2am. sometimes she’s got the zoomies or comes up with random questions that make no sense. and that doesn’t make her less cool or lovable

it’s actually kinda cute

i’m just over the whole “every female love interest is jessica rabbit” thing, especially when it doesn’t even make sense for the story or the guy she’s with. not every dude is into that 24/7 seductress energy

i just wanna see more golden retriever girlfriends and black cat boyfriends. that’s all i’m asking

i remember i once read a book… It was called “you deserve each other” by sarah hogle and like… i loved it? I dont remember every single detail, but the female character felt so natural

I’ll bring up dean winchester again but like… he’s serious and badass but also goofy most of the time and he’s still charming so… why not have a girl like this? A girl that’s not a side character or “the best friend” or anything like that.

Again, i dont hate on women that radiate “black cat” energy because there really women like this but there’s too little of them to make every single female character like this
