How can i talk to my mom?
I’m a 16 y/o female who has been struggling with my mental health for as long as i can remember. My mom and i have definitely had a lot of ups and downs, lots of disagreements, screaming matches, and points where we go days-weeks without speaking. Lately things have been a bit better. Recently I’ve been having horrible mood swings, anxiety, paranoia, slight hallucinations, suicidal thoughts and self destructive behaviors. I used to struggle a ton with self harming but have stopped, although I think about it every day. I go through depressive “episodes” where i can’t get out of bed, can’t stomach food, can’t talk to anybody, etc. My main problem that i have with myself is how hard it is for me to control my emotions. I always have intense urges to hurt myself or hurt the people around me (whom i love) whenever i get sad or upset or angry. I feel like i go from 0 to 100 in seconds and over the most minuscule issues. I have no formal diagnosis or anything like that, but i have been interested in seeing a psychiatrist. I just don’t know how to bring it up to my mom. In the past when i’ve tried to talk to her about my anxiety and/or depression, she just says “everyone has anxiety” or “it’s normal to feel sad sometimes” or “if you really feel like that i can send you to a hospital.” I don’t think she takes any of it seriously and I’m nervous she will either shut me down immediately, brush me off, or that this will send us right back into the bad relationship i’ve spent so long getting out of. I don’t know what to do, and i’m looking for any advice. Thank you guys for the help
