Just a short story about my journey on Mounjaro thus far, hope it helps/inspires any new people either wanting to start or have just started.

Male, 31, 6ft 2 - no health conditions

 I’ve been yo-yo dieting and on and off running for years and I’ve always been floating in and around 17st and 16st mark and I could never get below 16st no matter how hard I tried with running/dieting then I’d get fed up of trying and then go back up to 17st (sometimes more) and rinse and repeat. I heard of Mounjaro through social media and word of mouth but always thought it was from the NHS not done privately so I thought I’d look into it a bit more to see what my options were - so I ended up ordering my first 2.5mg pen when I was 107kg but didn’t actually start the pen till I was 100.7kg because I knew I could get back down to that weight myself so I started the pen when I felt I couldn’t loose more myself (which has been the case on numerous occasions)

All I can say is what a helpful little drug.

From day 1 it worked, food suppression, less food noise, getting fuller quicker from smaller meals.

I’ve lost 11.9kg since the start of my journey and I’m on my first week of 5mg. I think I’ve lost a lot compared to most posts I see on here but I am eating 2 meals a day (afternoon and evening) with prioritising protein and fibre and mornings having a protein shake to get those extra calories in. I probably aren’t eating as much calories as I should be accordingly to the TDEE thing but I feel amazing, I haven’t had any side effects and I plan of keeping to my routine till the end of the month and see where I’m at before deciding to carry on with Mounjaro. 

I’m the lightest I’ve been in about 5 years. I’m 3.5kg away from my weight goal (but I might try to loose more to give me a buffer when I come off Mounjaro) my BMI is on the brink of ‘healthy’ which I am over the moon with. 

My next plan is to work on core strength training and running to build back up the muscle mass I’ve lost and to give my body a better look and some definition. So I would be happy putting back on weight knowing it’s muscle. 

Overall I probably haven’t done the whole Mounjaro journey by the book or like a lot of others because it feels like I’ve used it for a quick weight loss boost but I didn’t expect things to progress so much so quickly. So people will probably judge and won’t agree but I feel and look 10x better than I did 5 weeks ago I couldn’t be more proud and happier with myself with what I’ve learnt about dieting, food portions, will power, self discipline which I plan on taking all that with me when I come off it.  

If anyone has any questions or thoughts negative or positive I would love to know as I know everyone’s journey is different and unique to them.
